ok... my frags that aren't glued down keep moving around or getting buried alive because of my bastard pistol shrimp.

I now have a plan...instead of gluing the frags down, I'm gonna glue the dang shrimp to a rock and call it day

what ya think?

PS. I'm not calling the shrimp a bastard to be mean... in the wild his dad left the moring after

I like that idea!

I am no reconsidering the Gobie/Pistol addition.... I don't want sand storms, but I was looking at the Candy Striped Pistol not the tiger.....

my god! i went to do my water change and cranked up my mp10 to full speed to stir up some crap... i noticed like 40 tiny aiptasia's in my tank just swaying in the current :rant::tears:

just spent the last hour blasting these little guys. :ninja: i think they had a freaking orgy in my tank or something because that was ridiculous! <_<

I'll be doing that this week, too -- my frustration is that some of them keep coming back regardless of how well I dose them in Aiptasia X. I'll be going after the majanos, too. About the only good thing I can say about my now-removed pistol shrimp is that it seemed to have taken out a couple of nems -- or something did, but I'm not sure what -- would a brittle star eat an anemone? Or maybe it was prolonged contact with a ricordea. I came in one morning to find one of the rics tipped over into a gap that pushed it up against the nem all night. The ric recovered just fine, but the nem disappeared. My frags often get moved about, even after having been glued...but in my tank it is the snails which just bowl over everything in their path. If they cannot get over it, they push 'til its moved.

Beautiful tank, EZ!

it puts the starfish in the basket!

hey SS. does your pistol shrimp drive you crazy at all?

Not so much, only when it covers some of the shrooms in the sand bed and then the shroom want to move, then I have red shroom floating around the tank. But, so far so good. Its my fire cleaner that is like a bad kid.

It puts the Joe Dirt in the hole.

Hahaha, I missed this one also.

 ... very nice. The colors look increable.

Thanks ss!

I have started to figure out how take shots of fast moving fish in changing lighting conditions. As they move around the tank the settings needed to get a good shot is hard to figure out. One second they are right under the light and the next they are at the sides of the tank in less light. It's fun to try and I am proud of my first ever reef tank.

Thanks formula... Looks very similar. Does yours send out sweepers when you feed. This guy does that every night

Silly me -- after all those traps and such, I finally caught him by taking out the rock he was hiding under and catching him with the net. Which is how I caught my red emerald, too. Kind of wish I hadn't killed him, but didn't have anywhere else for him to go.
