Suggs
Bit of an update.... Got the back and front piece cut to size today and managed to weld the 4 side pieces to the back. Unfortunately the cnc machine couldn't take the long pieces so I had to use a hand router Messy job! Jig to keep the ends at 90 degrees during welding Wire spacers I actually didn't use these in the end, I stole one of my Dad's guitar strings instead!! Spacers in place ready for welding Ended up with a few bubbles due to the spacers being too small Changed to the next size up guitar string for the rest which worked a treat (0.35mm) Internal sides And the last one Thats how I left it for the day! Unfortunately I wont get chance to work on the tank for a couple of weeks now Link to comment
Suggs
3 weeks after ordering, look whats arrived Link to comment
Suggs
Small update from today... Managed to weld the other side on And used a test piece to check hole sizes for the plumbing Tomorrow I'm going to drill the base and weld it to the sides all being well. Link to comment
d9hp
Great work. Really clean! Bravo for using that route on the cuts...that had to be tough. And I couldn't tell whether you or your father builds guitars...either way that's a badass profession! Great idea following along. Link to comment
Suggs
Thanks Dustin Its my Dad who builds/repairs guitars. I'm an Architect so the two of us put together make a good team!! Link to comment

Suggs
Update..... Slight change of plan! I decided not to risk building the tank without a brace bar. That meant I couldn't weld the base today. First I drilled the holes in the base using the cnc machine. Test to make sure it was set up right First hole Mid way through Finished piece Then I temporarily fixed the plumbing bits to get an idea of how it will look Finally for today.... the brace bars During Finished And how its going to look (sort of!) Fingers crossed I'll get the brace bars and base welded next week Link to comment
