I was bored so I played with my wife's 75-300mm when I was supposed to be working

Thanks! I doubt I'll ever get that shot again. Our dog doesn't sit still if you try to take it's pic, but luckily I know that the couch gets awesome lighting in the mid-morning now :)

1st was with a 28-135 at 28mm

 

2nd was with the 10-22 at 10mm

 

I need to fix the white balance I think, I never corrected it.

 

And my dog just really likes the snow ;)

nice. you liking that better than the 17-40?

Eh, in some ways yes, in some ways no. It gets a hell of a lot wider, but I've found that in most instances I don't really need it.

 

On the other hand, 9 times out of 10 I used the 17-40 at 17mm anyway so I can easily get that effect with the 10-22 too. It's quality just isn't quite as good.

One more since it was clear out tonight. You know, I always thought the 75-300 lens got progressively softer as it approached the max of it's focal range, but this one was taken at 300mm and it turned out plenty sharp.
