It gets a hell of a lot wider, but I've found that in most instances I don't really need it. On the other hand, 9 times out of 10 I used the 17-40 at 17mm anyway so I can easily get that effect with the 10-22 too. It's quality just isn't quite as good. Link to comment

You know, I always thought the 75-300 lens got progressively softer as it approached the max of it's focal range, but this one was taken at 300mm and it turned out plenty sharp. Link to comment
