SmittyCoco
I could see the possibilities of a " hybrid " clam. The op's however is a crocea. Not a hybrid. Very nice one I might add. Now With that being said I would like to see where these clams are being bred myself. As all crocea clam keepers know , or should know. That when a captive clam grows the scute stays flared out and "fined like a maxima. With out rocks to bore down into the shell is not grinded down like in the wild. I am curious to see if these clams are grown in some sort of sandbed only lagoon? From looking at the picture of the reffbuilders link , though it is clearly obvious that the mantle shares both speceis markings. Link to comment
