wow. i used to have these guys in elementary school. i used to let them roam my room while i was doin hw. however once i fell asleep... 5 days later we found a hermit crab in the basement huddled against a heater lol

I think a clam is more difficult than SPS lol. Go for the SPS! Try a monti cap or something, I really think you can keep one.

Also, this pic is awesome. I hate you for it :D

i tried a moti last year. died over nite. params were perfect...

and thanks jacob. ya the pic is awesome :P

sad news-peppermint shrimp ate 3 of the 7 heads on my big hammer coral :(

however... last night i saw the cardinalfish chasing after the peppermint while it was scurrying around. well today its nowhere to be seen... i think the cardinal got the little bugger :D

yaa it was my fave coral :/ oh well i still have half of its beauty

the peppermint was 3 months old. i can usually keep them for a year in my tank

My 3 stared dying at about 1 a month a month after I got them...bought them to eat apistia, ate it all, did not harm any corals, so I guess they did there job.

What kind of monti did you try? I'm trying my luck with a superman I bought yesterday.

ya mine took care of my aiptasia. but i guess they got hungry again

it was orange with green polyps. bout 2x2 inches for $15

yeah thats why i got it. it was just labled "orange monti" at the store

about 1.5 inches. but it had a burrow right next to the peppermint and it left it alone for the 3 months
