AMAYEU
Nice RSM!!! Love the scape and all the colorful corals in there!!!Thanks! I personally do not like the scape. Piled rock with a cave. I love the bonsai minimalist look. But how to get from now to there? Very nice... I like the chalice.... I think you are talking about the big purple and green one, Hollywood Stunner. What a fast grower with super long sweepers. My first chalice. Grew it from a little inch chunk. Link to comment
AMAYEU
Last night, a frag got knocked down and fell into the rockwork. Why do you even attempt to retrieve when you think it's pointless? I ended tearing apart a section of rock to get a blank plug. It was wedged in pretty tight and must of pulled zoas off. The shifting of seemed to open up the look of the tank, but now rock is touching the side glass. Hate that. I added the birds nest higher and moved the frogspawn to the back of the tank. That's just what I did. Link to comment
AMAYEU
One year since I got him! I always wanted an anthia and the sunburst fathead seemed to be best choice for a smaller tank. He eats a lot and grows slow. Link to comment

DieselDU
Your RSM looks awesome. When did you dump the stock lighting and put in the DIY? Link to comment
gonzalez78
I think a bigger tank upgrade is overdue for you Mike then you can do the bonsai look and have plenty of room for all those corals. You and Grant both need an upgrade like Tom's Link to comment

AMAYEU
Your RSM looks awesome. When did you dump the stock lighting and put in the DIY? Yes, DIY before getting wet. Initially 9x4.25 Rapidled 6 blue 6 white. Really need a 18-20" heatsink with 24 LEDs. But was carrying over lights from a 12g Aquapod. Intense light but centered. No light on the sides. I think a bigger tank upgrade is overdue for you Mike then you can do the bonsai look and have plenty of room for all those corals. You and Grant both need an upgrade like Tom's Luis! But it would have to be 120-200 gallons lol. Guy's Elos 120 is perfect but I would be sleeping in the spare room or bathtub. No option of the couch. Lol WOW!!! That's what I'm talking about!!! Beer is good for washing down the tequila! Well, don't forget the body Jell-O shots in between. Lol. Link to comment
kismetsh
Heater: 50W Stealth Just a heads up, the Stealth was recalled. I had one in my old 20. Marineland sent me a replacement when I called them a couple of weeks ago. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2011/Aquarium-Heaters-Recalled-by-United-Pet-Group-Due-to-Fire-and-Laceration-Hazards/ http://www.marineland.com/Policies/Recall-Information.aspx Link to comment

You made me look at the model #. Knew about the recall and thought this particular one was after the recall. Saved my tank from disaster?!? So suggestions in heaters... AMAYEU
How often do u feed the anthias? He's really cool I am a heavy feeder. I feed the tank 3 times a day. Once I get home, sometime during dinner time, and before bed. The types of food are random, frozen cyclopleeze, instant ocean gel cyclopleeze, aqua treasure mysis, generic smal frozen mysis, frozen brine, nutramar ova, spectrum a pellets, sera marin granular pellets, reed mariculture (tdo-ep1 and otohime ep2) pellets, reef nutrition live phyto. I crush all the types of pellets into one mix. And I stopped using reef nutrition oyster feast, pretty expensive and have a lot of food to use up. Back on specifics... Sheesh digression... At first the sunburst anthia only ate the small clearer white mysis. Then he progressed to cyclopleeze. For the first few months he spit out pellets, but now is fine. Tried feeding the tank for a week straight with only pellets and he ate. Crushing pellets seems to work well. I noticed the spectrum a pellets are favored by all my fish. The sera marin is disliked. I think it's too hard. They do seem to eat alot, like high metabolism with little girth gain in the belly. I noticed no issues with once a day or every other day, but i am a natural heavy feeder and always got back to 3 times a day. Hope that answers your question. Link to comment
