Well it's safe to say that the frag tank was not getting enough flow. in some spots there was a solid 1/2" of detritus :o

so i removed the egg crate and built a rack for the plugs, then boosted that 1" off the floor. I also took out some rocks, and mounted some of the sps colonies to natural rock mounts. it took about 3 hours and i left my house before i could get a better picture than this.... lol i'll have my parents send some soon.

sorry again for the picture fail, i was too exhausted to wait around for it to clear.

other than the detritus the tank is doing marvelous. the echinata colony i got is almost double the size and this is the best pic i could get...

**its the one in the back. (i dk what kind of sps is in the front...)

Good Idea I was going to point out that someone ram sacked your fish-room. :P

yeahhhh. i've been slacking on keeping everything organized... but i'm working on it right now!

i need to do some more wire organization. i feel as though it's a never ending battle!

I agree with the wires battle, I pinned everything up but still can't get to the end of it...

time for a halide bulb change. i hate the whiteness of the 14K. but i'm not exactly sure what would look/perform best on the stock sunpod 250W electronic ballasts... i do know i want more of a blue look, i don't need to worry about decreasing par since the tank is only 12" deep.

i was thinking something 20K, but i don't know which brands are any good...

Interesting. What ballast model is it?

not sure, i remember reading they're electronic ballasts, but i'm a bit of a noob when it comes to halide technology....

here's the manual:

edit: from reef central:

"The 250 watters use external magnetics but from what another member who had one stated, the ballasts are NOT M80 HQI's. They are standard pulse start ballasts ANSI M138. Apparently this is listed on the ballast. Cant say whether they have changed this or not but that is the last I had heard."
