Clam HELP!!

hi im quite new but no quite a lot now thx to ppl helping me and my real questions are:

 

1. is a clam an invertabrat

 

2. do they move (pretty lame really) :P

 

3. how do u feed them

 

i no that they need really good lighting like good PC's or MH's

 

this simple info would really help me even tough it's pretty lame or if any 1 knows a site where they can be described fully help appreciated

1. yes, an invert.

 

2. yes they move. Mine actually shifts to catch the morning sun and then shifts around when the sun is away from the window and the pc/mh combo is on.

 

3. there are different ways to feed them but many use DT's Phytoplankton and, if the clam is not attached to rock, they place the clam in a small container with tank water, put in some DT's and wait until the clam has "cleaned the green from the water." Then they put the clam back. Others, myself included, rely on the clam itself to get the nourishment it needs from the water and the light.
