itswayner
Hey, I saw this online and was wondering if i would be able to keep them in a 15gH with a 96w PC. Cleaner Clam I know most clams need alot of light and such but what about this plain looking one? Link to comment
i have crabs
These clams do not host any xooxanthellae, and therefore don’t need any specific kind of light, but do require a lot of filter foods. I don’t recommend them for smaller tanks. Most filter feeding clams can’t survive in captivity because our aquariums are too "clean" for them, i.e. there isn’t enough food. Link to comment
tinyreef
ime those types of clams are also colder-water animals, i.e. more nutrient rich/planktonic waters. if you want to still try it, try octopets.com. i'm not sure if he's re-stocked his livestock supplies but he used to carry tiny clams as feeders and filters for the octos he sells. again, coldwater though. audiocontrol
look into warm-water oysters...such as the lister-tree oyster from florida/bahamas. I have one in my tank...since over a year. Neat little addition and filters the water a bit. Link to comment
Perpetual98
I've wondered about using cheap cleaner clams in a sump for nutrient export and stuff like that. Never did lots of research though. Link to comment
