I've had a 5 inch purple maxima for the last 3 weeks now, its mantle seem to be really open! , but is reacts to movement well and has no problem closing, but its colour is starting to fade just a little. I have a 65watt true actinic and a 65watt 10000k on for 12 hours a day. i use distilled water,. i test my water regularly. The store i bought it from said it would be fine, but i 'm getting alot of difference of opinions from people i talk to. am i doing anything wrong? ?? and do i need metal halids? ps my tanks 6 months old Link to comment

BAYSLAYER Posted August 24, 2005 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Well I have had two clams in my nanocube for about 6 months with no problems but its best to have them under MH, Im in the process of setting up my 29g with 250w MH so I think there going to be much happier. Short term you can keep them under PC but for long term you definetly need MH. Link to comment
