Honestly, doesn't look dull to me. I see all kinds of interesting pieces. Is that colony on the right Favia or Acans? I scrolled up and it looked like Acans, but they look huge in this pic.

Also where is the toadstool situated?

I am surprised with mine - I moved my toadstool to a very high par area of my tank with tons of flow and it's much happier. I used to keep them in lower, quieter zones in the past. Constantly being reminded that our reefs love flow, even corals we think of as low flow.

It's mostly the montis that are suffering the most oddly.. spongodes, digi, setosa are all brown as can be and look very dry. And yes that is a big rock of acans!

The toadstool got moved to a tank with all of my other softies, i'll have to take a picture when they're all open together (which is rare..) it's still doing well don't worry! I've heard rumors that softies and sps don't mix well in small tanks? I tried to run carbon often but paranoia got the best of me and I just ended up removing all my leathers.

Slowly adding some more frags and seeing what does well and what doesn't.

Also administered my first dose of tm's reef actif, it's a mild form of carbon dosing you do once a week in between water changes. I've heard and seen great results online, and figured I'd give it a shot since my nutrients have always trended high anyways. If I see anything negative in the future I will probably reconsider it

The acans on the right catch my eye every time I look at this tank. Love em'  Any updates on the monti's?  I had a little bit of a similar issue it sounds like.  Run an ICP recently?

Thanks! I've had that rock for 2 years now it started with around 6 polyps total. My setosa and cap seem to be coming back slowly, but the spongodes and red digi on the left are now just straight stn'ing. I have never tried an icp test in any of my tanks but maybe i'll try.

Found some blue ridge!! I've been looking for some of this stuff for forever, I always just thought it was super unique despite its "ugly" appearance

Few fts for this week, here's the 22g bookshelf, 38g bookshelf, and my pnw small in one at work. Too many tanks to make threads for but I like sharing them! As you can tell I like branch rock a whole lot..

I’ve got a small in one in the box from the PNW expo booth from last month.

 Yours looks fantastic!

Makes me want to get mine out and start.

I would do it! Better to start cycling sooner than later 🙂

The stock light is kind of bad (no offense harley, the tank itself is great), I put a reef breeders pico 2023 on mine, highly recommended. Would recommend an inkbird for whatever heater you put in it, but other than that this tank has been super easy for the past 6 months now.

Don't recommend putting sps in there though, once they started growing that tank will now suck up 2 dkh in 24 hours.. started putting a little sodium carb in the topoff water for in between water changes.

You having a green banded goby and sexy shrimp is awesome.

I had only considered one or the other.

Hopefully the stock light can handle softies because that is the plan.  I’m wanting to make sure my 40 breeder takes off before I do it though.  Very focused on that as it takes up any free time I have during the workday.

This is officially the longest I have kept an acro alive/growing.. knock on wood but even my montis are starting to show signs of life again

August update! Tank has been cruising along with the new carbon dosing schedule, corals that I thought were a goner are slowly coming back (setosa, hirsuta, spongodes..)

Getting ready to add 2 or 3 acro frags from work next week or so, super excited.
