Clown79
Not sure if its reef safe. I wouldn't add it until you know 100%. Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Are you planning on submerging the mat in your tank? Or just for use externally @Rosem89? Quote Link to comment
seabass
Generally I try to use food safe materials. Silicone is typically food safe (and thus, reef safe). However, if not specifically identified as food safe, there is a slight possibility of contaminants which could potentially be a problem. I would say the risk is very low, but not necessarily zero. At the very least, wash it down with a vinegar solution (or even Dawn dish soap), then rinse well. This may help to eliminate surface contaminates (maybe like those used to help release the silicone from the mold). 1 Quote Link to comment
Rosem89
@Christopher Marks I was planning on putting In the sump under my skimmer and return pump @seabassit's a dish/ glass draining Mat, not sure if that would go as food safe? I got to the idea from bulk reef supplies, however I'm finding it hard to find the oxo draining mats they use, here in the uk Quote Link to comment
