Snow_Phoenix
Kenya tree has grown even more with a few new branches - its position is different now because I rotated the frag the other way when I re-glued it to the rocks. 😊 John Deere leptastrea with full PE: Still haven't resolved this aiptasia problem. Mum suggested I toss the whole clam shell in the sump to stop it from spreading. I actually kinda agree with her, but I like the duster worm! 😅 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Took more pics during heavy white + yellow lens filter! 😊 This is how the kenya tree is when the wavemaker is on: 😅 It straightens back up once it's off though! 🤐 Topview of the green starburst implosion paly: 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Sideview, zoomed in shot of one of the leptastrea frags: Brown palys: Xenia & GSP: I think some of the orange clove polyps are salvageable (?) 🤔 This was quite surprising but I just noticed that the very tiny, shrunken, bleached out rainbow yuma that survived 2.5+ months of fallow + no light is actually making a comeback! It has even begun redeveloping a bit of color. 👀 Quite amazed at the resiliency of this reef. 👀 5 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
A few topview shots - the second leptastrea frag is doing rather well too: 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
PJ & Foxy are doing well together. 😊 Also spotted PJ actively eating live pods when I turned the wavemaker off to snap some pics. 👍 Foxy is bold as usual: 4 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
PJ on the hunt for live pods: I believe she did succeed in getting a few: 😊 https://www.instagram.com/p/CaUV_zCp1bI/?utm_medium=copy_link Also, she started eating pellets (!!!), *but she only eats the M-sized seaweed ones that I feed Foxy, and ignores the other meat-based pellets. She seems healthy enough though, so... 🤷♀️ 4 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
I keep Foxy chunky by feeding her as much as she wants. 😊👍 I haven't opened the Prime Reef flakes yet, but am planning to. The NLS + Formula One combo is actually more than enough, pellet-wise. 3 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
See the white patches on the rocks? It's the handiwork of the prickly culprit hidden behind. No wonder coralline could never truly encrust and grow out in this thing. Guess the tank will have to live with the dry-rock look. 🤷♀️ 1 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Chunky fish is out! 👀 PJ is doing quite well too. She still ate a single pellet today - she prefers live pods though. 👍 5 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
A few snapshots of the corals: Just watching them grow for now. I *might move a small rock encrusted in GSP from the nano to this tank - still thinking about it. 🤔 I just realized I have not WCed this tank properly since it went fallow in late Nov. I did clean the sump once and replace the water in there, and I did siphon out a lot of dirty sand from the DT, but never truly WC the DT. 🤔 However, I have been dosing Ca, Alk, Mg & Chaetogro daily ever since I added fish, and I do dose Iodine & Vit C. once a week. I don't think I'll be doing any WCs until I recover, and maybe (?) do a minor WC right before I bring my brain coral back from the store. The softies seem to like the slightly dirty water though - so far all of them appear to be growing bit by bit. 😊👍 4 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Some of these shots are angled, so the proportions might be a bit off, but here's Foxy today (with PJ in the background) : She does have a very small blemish on her left side - nothing off about it (I checked), so I left her on her own. Both fish are quite healthy and eating - even PJ's appetite has perked up quite a fair bit. 👍 5 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
That one time in 2016 when I was acclimating 3 different types of shrimp together: 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Finally scraped the glass and I can see my fish again! 👀 (Toes are healing up pretty well too - can take short trips outside the house now!) ^Blurry pic, but check out Foxy's dorsal spines! She raised them for a second only though. 😅 PJ is doing very well now. She is now fully weaned onto pellets (eats up to 5 M-sized Hikari ones, which is quite big for a fish her size, and still loves to snack on live pods). I noticed both the Xenia & Kenya tree has slowed down a little in terms of growth, but the GSP & leptastrea have encrusted successfully over the LR and are slowly spreading out. I'm planning on buying a few more mangrove propagules to replace 2 unhealthy ones in the fuge (I accidently knocked off the tips (new shoots) while I was misting the leaves of the other mangroves several weeks ago, and these two propagules have been struggling ever since. 😕). I'm also saving up for a new light - either another AI Prime HD, or if I can stretch my budget somehow, a Hydra 32 HD (which will replace both of my current ones). My current AI Prime is okay actually, but the R60 is only semi-functional. Most (almost half) of the LEDs are not working and the app can no longer be paired with the updated version of my android. Given that I plan on bringing home some LPS next month, it's best to get this light issue sorted out quickly. I'm simply stalling because I wish to do more research and get a light I'm truly happy with (and something that can last long, preferably), and not cave in to something that will cause issues later. My R60 was a shop's display light used for their frag tanks, and is secondhand, so I'm unsurprised it went kaput first. I just had hoped it'd last a teensy bit longer, but you can't have everything in life. 🤷♀️ Still grateful to have acquired it though. At full functionality, it was a truly good light. I'll think about this more. Lights are extremely expensive, and although I reef on a budget, I can't stinge on this aspect when it comes to *this tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
