   This is an interesting topic. I think you could raise corals under the stock lighting, don't let us deter you. 

   Here's an experiment I would be all over... when in Hawaii look into "flouro diving" I have never done it but I have dove a reef at night, you will be amazed what pops out. YouTube probably has some vids.

well, I failed miserably on this project... I did a horrible job at posting daily updates, and my AI Prime HD is being delivered on Sunday. Hah, too impatient. I actually forgot to turn the light on today before I left for work and it was the first time I've seen the monti lose any color. Anyways, follow the rest of this story on my aquarium journal.
