drgibby
So it was water change today. I took pictures of what i was talking about with all my corals gathering green. It seems they have all adapted to the same color no matter what the species. I wonder if the Green slimer is spreading or something or my lights aren't good enough Red shortcake was all red when i got it new encrusting is now green... 20161228_091147 by drgibby, on Flickr Bali Tri color 20161228_091138 by drgibby, on Flickr Katropora 20161228_091132_001 by drgibby, on Flickr Another random more red one when i got it. 20161228_091156_001 by drgibby, on Flickr All have the green where it looks like there is new growth. Its odd maybe they just grow green?! The setosa and bonsi are keeping there colors and i love them. To keep up with the decay here are new shots of the 2 pieces and there frags i cut from them.. 20161228_091524 by drgibby, on Flickr photobombed!! 20161228_091527 by drgibby, on Flickr 20161228_091533 by drgibby, on Flickr the rest of him is looking good though 20161228_091544 by drgibby, on Flickr Link to comment
Droy008
Interesting with the frags turning green. How intense is your lighting? I'd guess that you are providing the most ideal scenario for a specific zooxanthaelee algae, and on turn, they display that specific florescent green. Link to comment

Droy008
Hmm those are similar setting to what I'm using too. I'm a fan of green corals in particular so I'd say keep it up. But if you ever growing tired of them, just give me a call. Link to comment

drgibby
Good morning nano reef how are you all swimming today? Ive been working hard to remember to dose nopox this last week in hoping to attempt to reduce the phosphates and try to reverse that green coloration i have been getting. Phosphates measured .03 to start. After about a week of this the phosphates are measuring 0 but i dont believe that because there is still algae film growing on the glass and some algae on the rocks as well as the back chamber. Im wondering how much i should push my luck and really cursing small tanks atm. So little wiggle room Link to comment
teenyreef
Just go slow. My theory is that just getting phosphates low isn't enough, you need the low reading to be because something in the tank is out-consuming the algae for the phosphates. It can take weeks for phosphate levels to drop following the initial nitrate drop with NoPox, I've found. Link to comment
drgibby
So ive slowed down the dosing of no pox mostly due to fear of causing bad things to happen. keeping parameters in a 10 gallon is hard enough. Especially when it deals with an all sps tank. I really want to get a sump preferably a red sea reefer 250. I saw a deep blue 30 gallon frag tank for 275 but it didn't come with a sump. I also want more height then it offered for more fish selection. Link to comment
drgibby
Just saw a post for a reefer 250 being sold local... the stand is black but for the price i might be ok with it.... ugh didn't want to spend the money just yet might be to hard to walk away from. Ill have to go take a look at it. What would you guys pay for one in good condition? Link to comment
drgibby
Deal fell through Link to comment
teenyreef
Bummer, but just keep your eyes open and another one should come along. I agree with not overdoing the NoPox, it's easy to do. If you see white stringy or gummy crap building up in the back chambers or on the filters and pumps, that's a sure sign things are not good with the NoPox. Speaking from my own experience, of course Link to comment
