davy jones
Got some corals at the local frag swap! Pink lemonade mini colony, Cali blue tort, Purple horrida, Strawberry shortcake, tenius, upscale microlados, Hawkins (that RTN'd) and a couple massive ricordias, so far everything is looking pretty good. Hopefully they regain a little of theyre lost colors (most frags are pretty fresh and many are from the underside of the mother colony) Also plan on taking advantage of the black friday sales everywhere, on the list is a small media reactor for carbon and gfo, another powerhead (possibly a jebao rw8 or a neptune WaV) and a new RO/DI unit. Suggestions are welcome! Link to comment
davy jones
Will try to take some tonight! Gotta find a faucet adapter that works on my sink and do a waterchange though first! The faucet adapters that came with the BRS RO/DI system dont fit, it is just a tad too big. Im pretty sure i need a 3/4" adapter so ill try and go to menards/HD tonight and get one. Also started running carbon last night, 1/4 cup of rox.8 in a reactor to start out. Fingers crossed everything looks good when i get home! Link to comment
ninjamyst
if your faucet has aerator, you can take the aerator off and bring it with you Link to comment
davy jones
if your faucet has aerator, you can take the aerator off and bring it with you This is the adapter for the faucet i got, They said that this should work with any standard faucet..... The faucet is slightly too small for the adapter.. What do i actually need to make this work? The girlfriend says no to hooking up to the washer line as my previous rodi leaked, so she wants this one in the main sink. Link to comment
ninjamyst
what does your faucet look like? Link to comment
davy jones
Kind of similar to this, same concept with the large piece attached to a retractable hose that goes under the sink. This is taken off google as i dont have a picture of the actual faucet before i remove the piece. Link to comment
mpsti05
what does your faucet look like? You having issues hooking up your rodi? I normally use the brs adapter that hooks up to the hardline under the sink and run it that way. Link to comment

WRX
They should come off at the faucet though if they are crimped at the wall supply. You could put a t between the faucet and the supply line. Link to comment
ninjamyst
hmmm....kitchen faucets are always so weird now. Mine is kind of similar so that's why I hook up my RODI in the bathroom sink. Link to comment
davy jones
I know most people recommend using a T connector somewhere so you can still use the other stuff or have it hooked up all the time but really i need to hook it into the faucet and have the unit sit in the sink. Thats the only way i can use the RODI system at the apartment. The bathroom sink doesnt have any threading what so ever and again uses the tamper proof lines to the stuff. Woooo for "Luxury apartments." Link to comment

Woooo for "Luxury apartments." pretty sure your bathroom sink has an aerator that you can twist off...mine LOOKED like there was no aerator too but there is. I have my RODI unit and 5 gallon bucket in the bathtub in case it overflows. Make sure if the hose falls out of the bucket, it doesn't somehow land outside of the bathtub and leak water all over your floor. I am sadly speaking from experience... Link to comment
davy jones
If it does twist off ill need some sort of adjustable wrench or super plyers cause i cant get anything to budge lol Link to comment
davy jones
Went to home Depot with the areator and tested sizes, it fits on the 5/8 inch (17mm) compression fitting. Which tells me I need a 5/8 inch female to garden hose or 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch male. Which doesn't seem to exist on amazon, Lowe's or home depot... EDIT: I am told that it is very likely i dont have a 5/8" faucet but a M16x1 which is 16mm. So now im looking for a Female M16x1 or Tom Thumb adapter.. Anyone have knowledge on this? Link to comment
davy jones
AAAAAND PICTURES. From the right side PEEKABOOO Bubbles Finally! Damn Brown Jelly This is the hammer coral that used to be in Scorched's 3 foot tank. Purple Horrida Frag SSC frag. Starting to color back up and get some PE, I was told that this is because this frag was from the bottom of the colony.. we will see. BEAUTIFUL Cali Tort Frag. Really love the color on this one. Probably my favorite. Pink lemonade mini colony. Little on the green side, hoping it turns to yellow after being in my tank for a while. If not its still nice looking. Lavendar Cream Acro, Nice blue/purple color with brown/purple polyps. Hard to get a representative picture but very nice looking. The old frags. The Bali slimer has started encrusting on the rock finally! As for the PE on the others, my giant hermit crab had just run around the top of the rock knocking into everyone just before picture time. davy jones
love all those sticks! Thanks! i think i might be done with the sticks now though, ill give these guys room to grow and expand. Might jump into the world of zoas or maybe try chalices... Not sure! but its safe to say the sticks are plentiful, so after another month or so on the frag rack (hoping they encrust by then) Ill mount them all somewhere. Im hoping to put the SSC and the Cali Tort somewhere with high light.. i want them to be the show pieces eventually Link to comment
uwdanno
Golden Valley/St Louis park! Small world! Nice. We just moved from St Louis Park to Plymouth this week. I am going back to SLP tonight to move the tank. I lived right off 100 and Minnetonka Blvd. Super close to you. Link to comment
davy jones
Thats crazy! We were practically neighbors. Good luck with the tank move, hope it goes well! Link to comment
davy jones
What is everyones experience with Starry Blennies... Do they eat algea? Actually graze and not just munch on the glass? Are they notorious jumpers (yes i know each fish is different.) Will they do fine with my randalls goby and pistol shrimp? The goby spends most of his day guarding the shrimp and their den Link to comment
davy jones
UPDATE Installed mp40 i picked up for $150, still underway with the treatment of the dinos/cyano/whatever im dealing with. Doing black out for 72 hours, dosing h2o2, turkey basting the rocks, skimming wet, dosing diy coral snow, and rinsing filter socks daily.. hopefully this shit is done for soon. Link to comment
davy jones
Update on progress: It appears the dinos are gone (not likely but atleast everyone in the tank gets a respite from them for a while.) So have a photodump. Rics doing nicely again finally Nems looking better than they did in a LOOOONG time. SPS rock Duncans looking good, Torch, still unhappy.. A couple of shrooms, GOW paly mini colony and some algea Hammers Fragrack Cali tort and snail Why are my mushrooms turning white..? I moved them to lower flow and a shaded area thinking maybe theyre getting too much light, but it doesnt seem to help? Hammer and 'Shrooms Holy PE Batman! Purple horrida still looking good Still cant get a good color representation of this.. Light lavendar skin with brown polyps, actually looks really nice. Squiggles! Lots of baby duncans incoming.. Also kind of strange that the base of the duncans fluoresces green as well..? AAAAND FTS. Link to comment
