4x5
Good to see these taking off. The spread is great on these units but if you're wanting Acros all over the tank then I'd suggest opting for 4 LED pucks and potentially even 4 T5s (more is always better right). You'll be happy to have some extra power, especially if you have a little bit of a larger tank. For LPS and soft corals 2 and 2 is more than enough. Link to comment

All depends on what you're lighting, and the arrangement of the LED pucks. For tanks that are ~18" deep or greater, adding more LEDs in the center of the fixture won't really do much as you're still limited by the amount of spread, and you'd need to use two rows spread out to get coverage from the LEDs. To elaborate on my personal experience; I've tested SPS directly under a puck on the sand bed and the corals really react well with great colour, however, if I move it a few inches to either side the colour isn't quite as nice (drop in PAR clearly). What I'm suggesting is having 4 pucks running in a row down the unit. I believe this will create a better option for a tank dominated by SPS. Link to comment
DaveFason
$400 for a 24" unit. Includes Storm, two pucks, heatsink, etc. price? Just do it! must...resist... What do you have? i waannnnnnnnnn. can you please give me a quote Link to comment

I'm not talking about left to right (length), I'm talking about depth (front to back). Two pucks's spread from the front Four pucks' spread from the front More pucks in a row doesn't give more coverage for your width My solution Link to comment
4x5
Sorry, I didn't mean to give you more spread back to front, I meant a higher intensity left to right. Guess I wasn't clear. Your solution is a good one for overall spread yes. Link to comment
