Look, when you post something like this comparing two products( that are known to be heavily debated in 10 other threads on here) you are starting trouble. You are either trying to start garbage, or that oblivious. No offense, but it's even more ignorant to post the comparison when you yourself have been involved in the other threads. Your review could have easily been done without ever mentioning any EcoTech's products, and you knew it....period. Gauging your involvement in the other threads you were sitting the pot again because you have such an issue with EcoTech's you just HAD to get a blow in.....makes zero sense

Nobody is going to argue that EcoTech's products are overpriced.....we all know that. However, the idea you are getting the same product for a fraction of the price is laughable. At the very least EcoTech's products are built better....maybe they only move water like the Jebaos, but the quality and customer service is light years better. To say the cord being out of the water isn't worth the money is completely subjective, if I want the dang cord not in the water it's worth whatever I will pay for it.

I love people that compare EcoTech to Apple, so that must mean that Jebao is Microsoft, right? Maybe when Microsoft can make a box that says,"Click here to never see this message again" I'll buy another Microsoft product, and maybe a Jabeo. Both companies serve a different demographic....get over it.

"Man, I am so glad I bought this Zune (or Surface tablet) instead of an IPod(or IPad)! It is so much better......" Said nobody......ever....

^^^^ All good points. Vortechs are good pumps, I was sort of disappointed in the mp10, maybe I set my expectations too high. I have two 25's in my 75g and for now they're fine. I might at some point purchase a couple MP40's. Product to product, the vortech is without a doubt a far superior product, that's not even a question. If you're on a budget / don't want to shell out the cash for vortechs the jebaos will absolutely work, if things like a power cord being in a small part of the tank don't bother you, in my case, it really doesn't bother me. At the end of the day, if all you're looking for is a pump that moves a respectable amount of water, has a couple cool features and doesn't cost a ton of money, then a jebao is a great choice.

I love my nexus 7 tablet (which isn't microsoft)... but damn.. google makes a good product for the price. Maybe google should make pumps!

I just find it asinine and humorous that people compare EcoTech to Apple like it is an insult. It's actually a huge compliment. Fact: Apple is worth nearly 3x what Microsoft is, and outsells most their crap( along with other companies like samsung etc). They do price their products high because they can.... What business doesn't get the highest price they can for their products? Apple doesn't WANT everyone to have their products, they want the hipsters and d-bags to think they are special, and serve a niche market. But that still doesn't stop people from lining up for two days before the new iPhone comes out.... Name the last time anyone lined up like that for a windows product, or a samsung product.

Oh, and Apple is the leader in technology development. If they weren't, people wouldn't be trying to copy their shit. They built the first tablet that was worth anything, the first MP3 player that was worth anything and so on. If I was EcoTech I would be fist pumping my ass off in excitement to be compare to the best electronics company on this friggin planet, lmao.

Jebaos are good pumps, no doubt about it....but stop comparing the two. The day they Jebao comes out with a pump that has he SAME programming capability, build quality, and innovation, they cannot be compared. Oh, and when/if they ever do.... It won't cost 100.00, you can bet your sweet ass it'll be just as expensive. Your getting less, for less.....

On that note, I'm honestly not a huge fan of Apple. I like the Ipods vs the other mp3 players but for phones I think the new Galaxy's are far better. I like my Nook more than an Ipad and I've never owned an Apple based computer but, my Windows based Toshiba has never let me down (knocking on wood), has never had a virus, and I literally run no fire wall, anti virus or anything. Just figured I'd add my nonsense comment to the slew of other comments unrelated to the original topic.

Thanks for showing us how to suck corporate c*ck Steens!

Call it what you want, facts are facts... Being compared to Apple is one of the best compliments a company can get. Your and my opinion are pointless verses the facts. It isn't sucking cock to state cold, hard facts, lol.

Nice pissing contest. But face facts -- there is always a tradeoff when price is concerned. You could pay less and have a wire in your tank, or you could pay more and not have the wire. It's really too early to tell how things will play out between the two, because this Jebao pump is too new at the moment. Why look down on anyone for having either? Just look at the reviews and decide what you want. It's your money, so get what appeals to you.

At the moment it looks like both pumps are excellent for circulation. The EcoTech is a more respected name and it doesn't have the wire inside the tank. The Jebao is cheaper but it has a wire in the tank. It also seems to be quieter by general consensus. If there's anything objective to add, then add it to my summary. If you want to have an "Apple vs. Others" debate, then why not take that to the appropriate forum? Nothing like hijacking a thread that started out to be very cool and informative for many of us.

I don't mean to be a jerk. Otherwise, you're all awesome and informative people!

I have questions,

On a different site, I won a contest and have a choice of either the Jebao 10, 25, 40. I have two 40's for the new 150g reef, and I'll try out one of the new RW-8 on our new 29g.

So, are you guys saying that the 10 has better flow and quieter than the 25 ?

Since I have a choice, should I choose the 10 over the 25 ?

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Kevin

Is it a standard 29g? or a cube?

29g Oceanic BioCube, mixed reef.

wp10 all the way. Wp25 will be way too strong and HUGE. The footprint is gross.

The 29g will have the WR-8, not the 10, 25 or 40. I was asking about the difference between the latter for flow pattern and noise, as it sounds like people prefer the 10 over the 25. I have a 40g breeder that I will be setting up sometime.

I had a wp10 pair on a 40B and it was too weak. I put 1 wp25 on the 40 Breeder and it was overpowering on else mode and I didn't care for the footprint. I guess if you had to choose btw the two, the wp25 would be the way to go because you could find ways to manage the flow with a different power supply, rock work, or aiming the pump towards the surface a bit. The wp10 won't be of use on such a large tank imo.

Hum,.....the 25 was too much for your 40. Was the power turned on it's lowest settings ?

On else mode it blew my larger grained sand around but the waves work fine. However, waves are apparently a poor choice of flow in a reef tank though.

I'm sure rockscape will effect flow and the types of corals you want to have, ect. or if you just want waves then it will be fine.
