got2envy
MARIA!!! WTF are these called!??? The mouths are green, and the "iris" is metallic blue.... It just doesnt show on my camera. The reds are a bit blown out, in this FTS. -------------------------------- Feeding time... Nom Nom Nom My lights are turned down to 50% power, here. But, you can see the difference between the red's in last fts shot, and here. They are CB Punk Rockers (Cornbred on EBAY...I got them before I moved to Dallas) Link to comment

Squared
like that scape, gives the tank a very open feel to it even though it's such a small space Link to comment
Spiderguardnano
how often are you feeding? tank looks great Link to comment
Alex B
Starting to shape into a reef!! Love how it's survival of the fittest in there. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
No matter what you do... *smh* Gonna do 100% water changes, from now on. Freaking GHA. Everything else is hunky-dorry. Check out that amphipod.... He's a beast! I've watched him pick up Copepods and swallow em whole! I just sit and stare at this tank, like a complete nerd. Link to comment

pismo_reefer
like that scape, gives the tank a very open feel to it even though it's such a small spaceWhy thank you, Squared! It took me 3 hours to get exactly what I wanted outta those 5 rocks. I feel, that I achieved a very Iwagumi aquascape. Once fully stocked, the softness of the Reef Biome will balance the hardness of the rocks. I'm actually quite proud of it. how often are you feeding? tank looks great I feed (1) drop of PhytoPlex every-other-day.As well as 25% of a cube of PE Mysis, once a week, two days before water changes. (So, the animals have a chance to metabolize the proteins.) Starting to shape into a reef!! Love how it's survival of the fittest in there.Yea... I took a major financial hit this last month, otherwise this water-box would be fully stocked. Also, I knew a flipped over Astraea was fair game for the carnivores.... Thats life. Keep the picture coming!I got a couple more comin'.... Link to comment
pismo_reefer
This piece of algae broke free... I said, "Screw it." There's a bit of sand, a teeny piece of rock, and a crapload of Copepods. I guess you could call it a Copepod biotope? The jar is 20ml, about 2" tall, and corked. Link to comment
D Z
Love the jar! I have been meaning to put together something simple like that to bring to work and leave on my desk..... Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Tank is really coming together with all dem coralz. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Love the jar! I have been meaning to put together something simple like that to bring to work and leave on my desk..... I considered making a Tank Thread for it, as a joke... I'm calling it a "CopeTope". Tank is really coming together with all dem coralz. Its looking alright. Now that I'm dumping Amino Acids into stable water, the corals are happy critters. But, I really do need to just ball out and stock this fawker. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Thanks, Bumpkin'. The jar is kinda my scoff at the Nay-Sayers. As well as the "micro tank" frenzy. Just me being a troll. Im gonna change the water as little as possible. It currently has 5ppm of Nitrate. Gonna change it today, after that I'll let it go till it starts to cloud. Then, change it again in that interval. No corals, no feeding, no opening (except for wc's). Just algae, rock, sand, and pods. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Weird update... That tuft of algae, on the false wall, was GONE this morning. Just vanished. Not a trace of it left. I looked everywhere when I did my water change, didnt see it. But, I did find tiny Bubble Algae on a frag rock... So I chucked that sh*t and will be doing 100% water changes, from now on. Gonna continue to dose peroxide daily. The bubble algae was in a bad way, in a 10ppm nitrate tank. That means the peroxide does something, cuz BA is some evil sh*t. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Fighting off a Bubble Algae outbreak, atm. Theyre teeny-tiny, but they are there. Knocked my Nitrate down to "0ppm", and I'm dosing Peroxide. Because f*ck bubble algae. Link to comment
Reefkid88
Oh sh*t !!! No good. Nip that junk in the rump lmao. My snails have some on their shells I need to take them out and scrape that sh*t off before it spreads. As for the jar,you just going to leave the algae in dur ? I always wanted to start one and use a Aqualifter as a pump for water movement. Link to comment
Squared
at least it's not GHA! haha bubbles are at least a lot easier to remove. starting some pod cultures? your fish (if you get any) will like that Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Might make a 2.5g jar I have, into a macro-pico for pod breeding. Not sure yet... As much as I don't want the extra work, I would like a place for macro's. The jar, in the pics, is literally the size of yer thumb. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
[PicDump] In free air, there is 100 PAR at the jars face. Figuring in a 33% loss for water refraction and a bit more for the glass; I figure this has anywhere between 45-60 PAR inside. ------------------- [/PicDump] Link to comment
Reefkid88
Love the jar man !!! So awesome. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Mah dorky wife... The surface debris, I believe its a mix of sand-dust and coral 'goo'. It appears the day after water changes and disappears the following day. ----------- This Monti is a survivor... Link to comment
pismo_reefer
This, I want. Superman? Yep.... Got it from got2envy. Its more irridescent than that, irl. Link to comment
