NorthGaHillbilly
I was going through my old photobucket account and looking at some pictures of my old tanks, alot of "dua that was dumb" moments, but some pretty cool pieces I wish I still had. Old school photo dump Acro that might actually have been pretty with better WC An acro that was truly yellow Cant remember what this is, but if I remember it was a pretty rarely imported coral at the time Old 20L Coolest fish I've ever had, had him for ~8 months if I remember correctly till a mini crash 2.5 gallon for the Pico contest way back (Still have that piece of branch rock in my tank today) Link to comment
Lawnman
You had some cool stuff Greg. You sure don't have a problem growing coralline algae. What is that in picture 5 a chalice or favia? Link to comment
NorthGaHillbilly
Thanks man. The rocks had a while to grow it, still the same stuff I've got now LOL The consensus on that LPS back in the day was Australogyra zelli. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/62198-rare-ish-lps-to-share/ Link to comment
NorthGaHillbilly
Alk update: I've been checking every evening at 8:30 and my alk is sitting stable at 8.3-8.4 so thats good The two acros Ive got currently are doing well, so thats positive. My buddy down the street got a few colonies in and I ended up getting a nice sized frag of each, a Bird of Paradise that really looks great, and a yellow spongodes thats got a great glow to it. Obviously the PE on both is nice to see, as the acros look like sticks with a few polyps peaking out. Defiantly not looking to switch to an SPS system, but Its pretty fun messing around with them. My new tank is going to be in on his next big order, 34 gallon Deep Blue rimless, 36"x18"x12". Planning on keeping my current scape exactly as it is, just have more room between the islands and room for a bigger frag rack on the left side, I'm running out of space NGaHB Link to comment

I really appreciate it, I'm not one to turn away corals, but I'm trying to think long term and pick pieces that are going to appeal to me a year from now, not just what I can find at a good price. Long ago I made the mistake of green palys, still nuking them a few times a week with kalk Link to comment

markalot
Acropower is good stuff, definitely increases polyp extension. I dose every morning, about half the recommended amount for a week. You'll be all SPS soon. Link to comment

I could let go of my lobos, favias, and the euphillia, but theres no way I could let go of the chalices, trachys, scolys and more importantly, the meat No ####ing way he is LPS to the bone . No worries there man, there not going anywhere! Any progress on the top secret chalice towers? Looking good sir. Love the nem they are my favorite tank inhabitant, hands down. Ilike mine, but im not as into him as the misses, she gets home and goes to see how "her lonely anemone" is doing. She has been googling designer clowns and plans to get one before too long. I think im gong to end up with a small tang in the 34 gallon due to her (Call the Tang Police" Link to comment

Looking forward to see how it colors up in a month or two. It works well enough, but a reef octopus fell in my lap, so I've got an upgrade, just not sure if it'll fit under this stand Link to comment
