Miguel Romero
Hi, I have my own tank using such system (buttom drain) designed by myself. Mine is a freshwater planted tank, and instead of a sump I’m using a pair of cannisters (filters) to lock the flow in case of a shut down of power. Cannisters make a perfect seal (fully locked as a check valve) in case of a shut down of power. Otherwise all water will go down by using a simple sump. Quote Link to comment
Belly
Hi guys, I was just looking at this and may have a solution but will need to try this out first. Installing a sisten (toilet) float to regulate the level of the sump or a solenoid with a float switch.....so if the power goes out then, no water flows. Install this direct to the bottom feed line then I to the sump. (Everything stays where it should when the power goes out). I will try this next weekend and share the results Quote Link to comment
