CrazyEyes
Did a quick mock up of the return plumbing. Still need to make a few adjustments, add the ball valve and glue it up. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0947_zpsb7703429.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0948_zps74ccede9.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0950_zpsb541bd9a.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0949_zpsc963a85b.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0951_zpsf5c78d54.jpg.html'> Also picked up a wp-25. jedimasterben
The return is going over the top? Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Yeah its not getting drilled for the return. Link to comment
jedimasterben
WTF, drill that bish too! lol DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE AND BRING YOU SOME DINOFLAGELLATES Link to comment
CrazyEyes
We'll see how the 3 drain holes go. Once the back is painted black and the pvc is painted black it's not going to be such an eye sore though. Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Tada! Thanks to buddy we were able to get the three drain holes drilled, I must say it was much easier than I would have ever thought. Need to wipe it down a bit but no more daylight and it's dinner time lol. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0953_zps7a9224e1.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0954_zpscf8025ce.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0957_zps4dc75af6.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0952_zps34d5d050.jpg.html'> Link to comment
NirvanaandTool
Nice! Now silicone that overflow box on and start a leak test on the full setup! I'm totally fine with the return over the top. Don't let Jedi peer pressure you into drilling another hole. I plan on doing the same on my 90 though mine will be mostly hidden by my canopy. Link to comment

CrazyEyes
LOL! I don't even not want to drill for returns because I don't want to drill the holes. I just really like the return a little less permanent. Once I get everything painted it should be less of any eyesore. Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Okay okay I'll drill return holes, just for you Jedi... Nope just kidding. Bring on the dinoflagellates. Link to comment
jedimasterben
Nope just kidding. Bring on the dinoflagellates. You sure that's what you want? This is all that's left of that giant, beautiful gorgonian in the pictures. You'd be boned, dude. lol Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Man that is such a bummer, I can't believe you're still fighting this issue. I really hope it gets better soon. On another note, got the return plumbing done, I just need to glue it and secure it to the stand. Pretty happy with the way it came out. Left to right, emergency drain, full siphon, secondary drail. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0970_zps47cfb8f8.jpg.html'> Secondary drain, full siphon and all the way on the other side is the emergency. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0968_zps2f527682.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0966_zpsf655db5e.jpg.html'> Yeah the pipes are slanted. frags
Love the bean animal! Are you going to add a airline hose to the top of the second drain? Link to comment
NirvanaandTool
Overflow box, check. Plumbing, check. Return pump, check. Just add water. Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Silicone cured enough to the point where I could turn the tank back on the bottom. I must say it came out very well. Overflow box is perfectly level too. Need to head to Lowes and get the rest of the plumbing for the return then I'll be water testing everything. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0980_zpsa150183b.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0979_zpsce3624bb.jpg.html'> Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Took a few pictures just for Ben, figured he's appreciate them . Filled the sump just to see what sort flow this DC pump will throw out after head loss and bends and yeah it's pretty badass. Little on the not to quiet side but going to put a thick rubber mousepad under there. I also want to get this thing filled with water tomorrow. I just need to figure out a way to hook a hose to my sink because I do not feel like filling up a 5g bucket 35 times to fill it. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0981_zps31eed2ca.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0988_zps1b478732.jpg.html'> http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0983_zps559b036b.jpg.html'> Link to comment

CrazyEyes
Started the fill the tank up tonight just as a leak test. Got the tank over half way filled then I noticed something with the stand the was a little weird to me, I'm sure it was nothing but I'd rather not take the chance at the moment without renters insurance. Going to get some stainless steel angle brackets tomorrow to stiffen it up just a tad more, then get some renters insurance on Monday and finish leak testing it. This return pump is seriously amazing though. I know it's just a photo but that was only on the first setting of the pump. To be continued.....again. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0990_zps1546f897.jpg.html'> Link to comment

CrazyEyes
Thanks man. I picked up a canopy for it, I like it because it's not real high. I'm also going to replace the top piece with a new piece so the top piece sits flush and doesnt overhang. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/DrftNme/media/IMG_0991_zps1a51f35a.jpg.html'> Link to comment
CrazyEyes
And also, no more carrying buckets up the stairs for me, finally got everything I need for my ro/di i.e di resin, carbon block, sediment filter and a free brand new ro membrane. Bought the ro unit used for $20 and only put another $45 in it so a 4 stage ro/di w/ dual tds meter for $65, not a bad deal. Link to comment
