best clam choices for a bare bottom tank

Croceas and Maximas prefer being on the rock work, so they would technically be fine in a bare bottom tank.

 

true, if you care to be politically correct. But really any clam will do just fine.

Thank you for the fast replies ... When introducing them, should I just place them on the bottom or create a small rock pile to keep them upright or should a healthy clam keep itself upright?

If possible, put a small rock underneath the clam, so it can attach to it. That way you can move the clam later on without worrying about damaging it. You could put small rocks next to the clam to keep it upright, but it should stay upright for most part. If it keeps falling down, then it's probably not a good spot.
