Rehype
Looks like a really solid and well thought out design. The only drawback i see is having the media reactor and skimmer process water before the algae in your refugium gets a shot at it. The water will be pretty "clean" by the time it reaches the macro... which inst necessarily a bad thing but it may defeat the purpose having of having such a large fuge....JMO Link to comment

My general thought process is as follows: I plan to run carbon in the reactor, no GFO or other PO4 removing media.I'll probably only use filter socks after feeding or other maintenance. If need be, I can always take my skimmer and/or reactor offline. I'd like the fuge to become a breeding ground for microfauna. pod production > nutrient export Aside from competing for nutrients, I hope to benefit from the usage of both methods. The skimmer will help aerate the water and the fuge should help balance my pH. Experimentation with the efficacy of using either or both will be necessary. I'd rather have a surplus to address than to accommodate any additions. Does this sound unreasonable or misguided? Speak now, or forever hold your ☮ Link to comment
siwelk
so on a serious note. when do you think this thing is gonna be wet? Honestly, I don't know man. I'd like to say soon. I'm still waiting on my light to ship, makersLED build, stand completion. I have a few additional pieces of equipment to buy (EB4/VDM/PVC). It's looking more like mid-Summer, maybe 10 weeks. Stand looks great! Make sure it matches your furniture. So are you going to get an iPhone so you can control you Apex lite? I wish they had an android app. Thanks, it should complement the space well. There's currently nothing showcasing red. As for the iPhone, it won't happen. I'm due for an upgrade soon. Gonna get the EVO 4G LTE Is AquaNotes no longer working on the android platform? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...mFxdWFub3RlcyJd http://www.neptunesys.com/index.php?option...4&Itemid=40 Link to comment

Speak now, or forever hold your ☮ I totally agree with your reasoning as ive implemented the same methods on my tank. Ive just found that mechanical filtration can sometimes outcompete biological filtration for nutrients which in turn stunts algae growth and which ultimately would be bad for microfauna production. But since your already willing to make the necessary adjustments to prevent such an outcome my worries were a bit premature. In short carry on with this awesome build my friend. Link to comment
