Ive had two of them in the past they're great fixtures. Sorry to hear the ballast blew on yours so early...

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened.

Mfg. statistics I suppose...Thanks.

I love my coralife mini. It's on my macro fuge.

I originally intended to use it there.

Now I'll be doing a 660/455 LED DIY.

To-Buy

LED Build

Home Network

Marine Depot

I hope to order the LED components tomorrow, assuming makersLED heatsinks are available.

I'd also like to take advantage of the $72 refurbed Linksys WVC80N while it's discounted.

My custom Nano Box Duo Hybrid should be on it's way very soon. :stoked:

Lastly, I've determined I'll need an additonal EB4 to accomodate everything.

Good move on the levelers.

Mine is just ever so slightly off and I wish I could fix it.

This stand build has taken forever.

Mostly due to revisiting design plans.

I'm trying not to overlook anything.

So far it's been going pretty well.

If you haven't already bought a router I suggest the Apple Airport Extreme. It is the best router you can buy hands down. I went from 10-14mbs down and 2 up to over 40mbs down and 8mbs up when I switched to my Airport Extreme. That is over wireless. Wired my stats are more then double. It also works fantastically with my Apex and allows me to access it online.

+1 on the extreme, love mine. And I have an express hooked up to the apex, works perfectly.

Jeremi, where do you get all these gifs from? Lol

Thanks for the advice, but you'd be hard pressed to find any Apple products in my crib.

I have an iPod nano that I got for free, out of the trash.

I use it to rock out while shredding the gnar.

If it gets smashed/wet/lost, whatevs.

CCNA background equates to brand loyalty.

Plus, we be all PC/Android up in here.

So that's what you do when you're not jerking it to Brazilian fart pr0n.

Mannnn you need some apple in your life.

New 15" retina mbpro would be a good start.

My roommate and I both bought iPods back in 2004.

Neither one made it through Freshman year.

Early iPod customer service was a joke.

I've never looked back.

I need some advice on my dual sump/fuge layout.

Why don't you lazy bums help a brother out?

Rudimentary design:

10G sump

10G_final.png?t=1339612270

  1. Inlet for filter sock
  2. Skimmer & Heater
  3. Baffles
  4. Media Reactor
  5. Outlet to fuge - 3/4" SCH80

20G fuge

20G_Final.png?t=1339612269

  1. Bubble Trap Inlet
  2. Return Pump & Tee --> Fuge
  3. Avast ATO & Temp probe
  4. Baffles
  5. Fuge & Heater

Basically, I've never used multiple accessory tanks and I want to get some approval on design.

The DT would drain 2' into the sump, where it would get filtered, skimmed, and heated.

Baffles, Media Reactor and water would drain about 8" over and 6" down to the fuge.

The fuge would have a bubble trap tower and return pump chamber to the left.

This area would also house the Avast ATO mount and temperature probe.

Water will exit to the DT and 'Tee-off' to the right, to feed the fuge.

The fuge will house the second heater and be lit by my DIY LED.

My Oceanlife Overflow (from what I can tell) is a .75" return and a 1" drain.

Going to verify this soon, damn metric system and nonstandard fittings...

My return pump is an Eheim Compact+ 3000, 396-793gph flow rate.

I'd like to shoot for ~ 400-500 turnover through the sump.

Probably dial it back to 300 or so for the fuge.

GO!
