Isaac5981
Nice selection of fish and coral. Some great coloring. I love the black sand but have had bad luck in the past myself. Are you happy with the black sand? Would you use it if you were to set up another tank? Link to comment
Spencer7
Tough Q... Yes Fine white sand looks good in the beginning with no algae or junk but in the long run black looks better, hides algae, and provides contrast With that said I wish i got more, because when a little white sand lands you will end up siphoning it out Taking away sand... White sand specks have not been a big problem for me, that is evident in my pics Link to comment

Spencer7
My trip to B&H was a success! I bought a Nikon D5100 for $650 (it's a DSLR) I will post some awesome pics soon, i am pretty cleaned out for cash (also bought ipod and a case for camera) This is meant for underwater photography and I will be buying a Ikelite Housing eventually ($1400) I am 15 and paying for all this myself, which means I might need some more time before I start completing the To Do List ($$$) After I am set with the camera and housing, then i work on the tank, then im getting a MacBook Pro Please Help, send donations Every second you wait a tank in my house will crash Send a $50 minimum donation to listed address... thx. 123 Fake Street NY Link to comment

White sand specks have not been a big problem for me, that is evident in my pics Tank is looking great, I used black sand as well, I love the clean look of it, however, I am noticing a considerable difference in the brightness of the tank as opposed to white sand. Another issue I noticed with it is it doesnt reflect the light back up from the bottom, so the bottoms of my sps colonies are kinda lacking in color and PE. where as the tops look beautiful. I love the look of it but this last part concerns me long term for growth and over all health of my sps. I am not sure what brand you are using, but have you noticed any magnetism in yours? I can't use a mag cleaner because of a small iron content in it, I plan on slowly siphoning out the sand bed over WC's and putting in a 1" of white sand eventually. its unfortunate cause I love the way it makes the colors pop out Link to comment
