Tank is doing good, can't wait for summer, i will be able to work a ton which means more $$$ and time for my tank

However i will be gone for 3 weeks and i am very nervous, probably will arrange for someone to check in on the tank, will follow #1 rule...

Don't touch/change your aquarium within a month before leaving

Good coral growth and stocked to the brim with SPS

Removed three corals that were growing, and weren't pretty to make room

ATO is set and running like a boss

New fish is looking amazing and healthy

Next time i update will probably be in two weeks, by then school and finals will be over and i will have my uber nice camera expect at least 20 pics... :D :D :D:P:D :D :D

Nice selection of fish and coral.

Some great coloring.

I love the black sand but have had bad luck in the past myself.

Are you happy with the black sand? Would you use it if you were to

set up another tank?

Tough Q...

Yes

Fine white sand looks good in the beginning with no algae or junk

but in the long run black looks better, hides algae, and provides contrast

With that said I wish i got more, because when a little white sand lands you will end up siphoning it out

Taking away sand...

White sand specks have not been a big problem for me, that is evident in my pics

Quick update, a new To Do List!

If you don't know what that means, I made one few monthes ago and basically set some big goals to be accomplished in a few monthes, last time I did 10 things and got them all done, since it worked well I will try it again!

2012 To Do List

GOAL 1-- Buy a 1" Sea Swirl --

GOAL 2-- Install a UV Sterolizer into Return line --

GOAL 3-- Set up a organized Top Off and Dosing System --

GOAL 4-- New Aquascape...--

GOAL 5-- In the process remove some corals and establish some larger colonies --

GOAL 6-- A brand new MP10 (old one i bought used broke) --

GOAL 7-- Get a full Test Kit, possibly digital --

GOAL 8-- Install fans in Sump --

Wish me luck! :D

My trip to B&H was a success! :D

I bought a Nikon D5100 for $650 (it's a DSLR)

I will post some awesome pics soon, i am pretty cleaned out for cash (also bought ipod and a case for camera)

This is meant for underwater photography and I will be buying a Ikelite Housing eventually ($1400)

I am 15 and paying for all this myself, which means I might need some more time before I start completing the To Do List ($$$)

After I am set with the camera and housing, then i work on the tank, then im getting a MacBook Pro

Please Help, send donations

Every second you wait a tank in my house will crash

Send a $50 minimum donation to listed address...

thx. :D

Tank is looking great, I used black sand as well, I love the clean look of it, however, I am noticing a considerable difference in the brightness of the tank as opposed to white sand. Another issue I noticed with it is it doesnt reflect the light back up from the bottom, so the bottoms of my sps colonies are kinda lacking in color and PE. where as the tops look beautiful. I love the look of it but this last part concerns me long term for growth and over all health of my sps. I am not sure what brand you are using, but have you noticed any magnetism in yours? I can't use a mag cleaner because of a small iron content in it, I plan on slowly siphoning out the sand bed over WC's and putting in a 1" of white sand eventually. its unfortunate cause I love the way it makes the colors pop out
