Rockfish
the red slime maybe irritating the clam......and if you have a red slime outbreak in you tank it indicates to me of a water quality issue......wipe off the slime and check your water what type of light?? what type of clam?? how long have you had him?? how long has it been like this?? TJ_Burton
Looks like a squammy to me. The red slime or algae on the shell could certainly be irritating it. Remove it and figure out why you are getting it in the first place. Link to comment
Jungle_John
Looks like a squammy to me. same looks like a squammy. personally i dont think the red slime is hurting it. but it dose tell me this. red slime grows were there is low water flow, plus young clams will stick there funnel out and blow water like that to cause water circulation if there is low flow or none. so i think all you have to do (besides clean him off) is move him to a higher flow area. try that and keep use updated. and while your at is add all your parameters of your tank, fish and lighting. -JJ Link to comment
