LogansRunRx
well the UVL PC-Rs finally are a reality. got them put in today and doing some much needed tank maintenance. have had a lot going on the past few weeks -> work, family, trials, tribulations, etc... none-the-less... PICs!!! FTS with the old Current PCs ... please ignore the elusive spatula fish (setting the white balance) FTS with the new UVL 545/03 dual actinic Frogspawn with the UVL dual actinic FTS with UVL PC-R (1) dual actinic and (1) actinic white 12000k more shots with all UVLs firing all the above were taken with a Canon T2i on the same settings manual mode ISO 3200 custom white balance heres a FTS with a new white balance it's close to what i see with my eyes, but still needs some tweaking (the camera's still smarter than me) as you can see... the UVL dual actinic (+) actinic white is a little more pink that i was expecting. definitely no where near as blue/white as my Ushio 20k MH. a lot more reds/pinks going on here. i'm also battling a GHA outbreak. water change today and replacing the Matrix Carbon and PhosGuard fish don't seem too freaked out by the new colors. we'll see how the coral's do. cheers... rO.oster
Just saw this on a Mr. Coral thread: Make sure you dip fo real. It's been two years or so since I've bought from Mr. Coral, but every time I've dipped (especially zoanthids) all kinds of baddies came off! dip with what!?? Link to comment
drew11588
my nc24 is upgraded to 3 36 watt PC. im debating which pc-r's to go with. Do you think i should go with 1 dual actinic bulb, 1 actinic white, and 1 5050, OR 1 dual actinic and 2 5050s? Link to comment
LogansRunRx
dip with what!?? coral dip, or iodine, or freshwater... lots of options... even more opinions about what is best. it's to deal with hitch-hiking pests. my nc24 is upgraded to 3 36 watt PC. im debating which pc-r's to go with. Do you think i should go with 1 dual actinic bulb, 1 actinic white, and 1 5050, OR 1 dual actinic and 2 5050s? based on what i'm seeing with 2 36w PC-Rs... if you want blue -> i'd go 1 x dual actininc and 2 x 50/50's there's a lot of pink in that actinic white! cjrudy
Wow, I am glad I saw this thread, I was just about to order one actinic white and one dual actinic for my BC29, but I am not sure I want a pink tint. Not real sure about them now. Link to comment

Not real sure about them now. it's definately got more red in the spectrum than i was expecting for a 12000k bulb... the photo's above are a bit exaggerated, but the pink is definately there. if you wanna go blue then the dual actinic (+) 50/50 is likely the way to go. the dual actinic bulb is WICKED... stuff pops like never before!
