Rockfish
i've always been big on croceas and derasa clams for my larger tanks but now that i've down sized to an RSM i was wondering if a Maxima would do well in a year old tank with 250 watt of MH lighting i like them for there color and the fact that they only get to be about 6 inches or so what do you think? javisaman
Should be fine, make sure you get one bigger than 3" though. Smaller clams tend to have poor survival rates even in established tanks under expert care. Link to comment

I am by no means an expert and bought a 1 and 1/2 inch maxima who now is over 2 and 1/2 inchs and is constantly growing under my 250W MH I have never spot feed it either which I was told small clams need, I do feed the tank twice a week with invert / coral food. So Id say try it if you have had success with other clams, your lighting is definitly enough. Link to comment
