Oysters and cleaner clams

most are probably not from the ocean. (forgot the names of the cleaner clams that are collected in the ocean)

are saltwater oysters and cleaner clams ok in medium size tanks like 20-46g?

or even 10g or below?

 

heard they are good filter feeders that clean up the water nicely.

You don't want to bring clams/oysters to "clean the water" since they will need constant feedings to survive. This is true in general for most large filter feeders.

+1. The cleaner clams need to be fed lots defeating the purpose. I target feed my stiff pen shell more than I would a coral. I usually just use some dissolved fish food.
