that1reefstud
So I came home on break for lunch today to find my clam face down in the sand and his part of his foot still attached to the rock that he was on. So I reached in the tank and righted the clam and placed it on the sand bed. The clam is still reactive to light and shadow and is extending I'm just wondering if i should remove it or not if its going to die I don't want it to nuke my tank. So should I leave it in and see if it recovers and monitor it and if it starts to go remove it?? Or should I remove it right away and not risk it ?? Thanks for any help Link to comment

Marteen
Try placing it back on the rock and place some rocks around him so he can reattach without falling over. Clams that fall over are moving because something is bothering them. Maybe it's getting too much light or not enough, depending on it's extension you can determine how much light it is getting. You may want to move it up or place it on the sandbed with a piece of rock under it so it has something to attach to. Link to comment

StevieT
They move around like this. Keep trying. Mine moves around every few months which means it falls over on to the sand. Link to comment
