Atari
the place the the clams mantle rests has grown quite a bit since i got it. Now extends past the rest of the shell by almost 1 cm. Is this a good or bad thing? I have had the clam for about 1 and 1/2 weeks. Link to comment
MiddReef
Clam experts can chime in here, but I always thought that was just new growth showing through around the rim of the clam's shell. I keep an eye on that to see how much the animal has grown recently. Anyone else? Link to comment
disaster999
im not expert, but i think thats how the clam grows. when i bought my clam i noticed the same thing. should be normal...but dont quote me on it Link to comment
Atari
I was think it thats how they grow there shells but it is dramatically different then the earlier shell growth which is what has me a bit worried. Link to comment
aaron1987
it doesn't appear that the shell itself has grown, how's the lighting the clam's under? It looks like it may be reaching a bit, but it's not necessarily a bad thing short term. Link to comment
Atari
The white is hard and dose not retract when the mantal does. its under 1 150 MH 14k and 2 T5s here is a FTS to give you an idea of how fare it is from the lights. Link to comment
