ma_sha1
My crocea clam is in the 4 Gal tank for 6 mth, always doing well. Just a few days ago, I converted the filter AC50 into a Fuge with Chaeto & ceramic media. I noticed the clam mouth become tightly shut. I removed the ceramic media, but 2 days later, clam mouth is still shut. The mental is still fully open, just the inhale mouth is closed. Anyone had this situation? Would chaeto deplete nitrate so clam has nothing to eat, then shut it's mouth? or is there something released in water that clam doesn't like? Should I remove the chaeto? Very strange situation Link to comment
Reef Goddess
Not sure. Sounds like there shouldn't be a problem since its mantle is out. Have you done a water test to make sure nothing changed since you altered things? Link to comment
qball
Bump.... I have a Tridacna Crocea which was gaping to the point (almost) tearing, moved it up under the lights and now the mantle is completely open, but the mouth is almost closed. It also started attaching to the rock. Am I correct in assuming it is happy? Link to comment
