82watts of cf for clams

I'm going to put a 32w cf ballast in my aquapod 12g along with the stock lighting which is 54watts. I want to get a clam, my lfs has a bio-cube set-up with stock lighting and they have a clam. Can I get a clam?

I imagine you mean compact fluorescent with that CF, right? If so, I say no. Clams require more light than that and pristine water conditions.

you can get only get a deresa or a gigas, probably even a squamosa. problem is that these 3 will outgrow your 12 gallon in no time, and you'll need to keep your alk and calcium rock solid.

Thanks, I want to get a 223w fixture with a 175w Metal H and 2 24w compact Fluorescent lights, its on ebay for $140 but with $40 shipping I think not. I don't know what i'm doing about lighting yet, hopefully I'll know soon.
