Just finished building the wall-mounted cabinet and finally found a small enough decent skimmer to fit on the shallow tank.

That is NOT a decent skimmer. But it is a sweet looking tank.

Hey man. Nice setup, sure it will look really nice. Just curious, what did you use to secure the base to the wall. Not trying to be a jerk, but I just really want you to do this nice because then I can show the boss (my gf), and we can do one. The way I figure it, your loading it (tank with water to the rim, not including skimmer or other misc. tools and rock) to about 2.44 lbs/in^2. I figure that you are tied into the studs. Just curious what your using and length (e.g. bolts)??

yeah, not too happy with the skimmer, it works okay i guess for a 13 gallon tank. but then again, i'm sorta new to this thing, so what do i know? i built that cabinet out of pine, inside of it i mounted three 8x6 simpson strong tie structural shelf mounting brackets pre-spaced 16 inches on center so they match up with the wall studs. i used 3 inch lag bolts, three in each bracket. one pair of those simpson brackets with hold 175 lbs i believe. so 3 should be good for such a small tank.

that's an Aqualife 115 skimmer right? It's not that crappy, works great on my Cadlight 12 tank. Pulling lots of gunk
