Meercat_Maric Posted November 3, 2005 Its seggested that you do - however in the time when I first posted my last comment I have experimented with it over an uncovered tank with no ill effects with exception to some salt creep. I am sure that over an extended period of time it might cause some issues with salt getting in the light housing if not properly maintained however iwth regular maintenance you might just be fine.
