what type of light is that. (a 96 watt quad tube strip light?)

thats a 96 PC quad for sure. I have the 130 Coralife quad. I thought you had to house those lights over a covered aquarium...

yeah my clown jumped out when i had my tank a long time ago, in my new tank i havent had a clown yet but im getting ready to prepare for that just in case, cause i have the same size tank and light fixture raised up

im thinking of building a small wall around the front and sides

Its seggested that you do - however in the time when I first posted my last comment I have experimented with it over an uncovered tank with no ill effects with exception to some salt creep. I am sure that over an extended period of time it might cause some issues with salt getting in the light housing if not properly maintained however iwth regular maintenance you might just be fine.
