Weed Control?

Okay, I found these boards too late to realize how to handle Xenia and GSP. I have some beautiful Xenia I maintain on a rock away from the other rock piles. Unfortunately, when I was a NOOBIE (now I am only a little noob) I let it get onto some rock and it is starting to grow real pretty.

I have thought about cutting, scrubbing, then a nice overnight bath in some fresh water - unfortunately, that will kill all the other stuff on the rock like the coralline and little bitty feather dusters and what nots - any ideas other than the fresh water dunk?

Thanks,

Symbiotic

Xenia Is Awesome. I had that same variety and it all died when I swichted over tanks. Just frag the it snip of the pieces that are overgrowing.

you can just use scissors, and if you put it in fw overnight everything will die on it, and then after you put it back in it will cause another cycle.

if you take some tweezers, you can very carefully detach the xenia by the root stalk from the rock. the tissue does contain relatively strong connective tissue, so as long as you make sure none of the residue remains, you will effectively have removed the xenia.
