ZeRo 91 Posted November 22, 2006 Do you ever get tired of seeing your car/type of car driven around by so many other people? Quote Link to comment
Reco Posted November 22, 2006 Actually, the vast majority of Mustangs you see on the road are V6's, so not really. It's 210hp vs 300hp, pretty big difference. Compared to an Accord, 350z, Civic, Corolla, or BMW 3 series....is it really that more common? I chose this becuase it was American, and the most torque/HP/accerlation per dollar. What do you drive? Izzue Posted November 22, 2006 Awesome...mustangs rock...Ive got a 25th aniv...bought new in 1990...still lights the tires in second...alll stock. Quote Link to comment
Reco Posted November 22, 2006 @ Izzue - Cool! You should post some pics!?!? A lot of people don't appreciate what has made the Mustang an American success story for over 40 years, thier loss. As of today, I would have to spend 6-10k more to get a similar driving experience. The engines are studs...just my preference, but I prefer the performance over the "nice" interior (and less power) ala Europe/Japan. Cheers! Quote Link to comment
Kymani Posted November 22, 2006 I drive a 1985 GT with a stock 302, and ive yet to lose in a race against an import. Thats 21 years of technology my car doesnt have. BTW, its funny how so many import drivers talk so much junk, but when at the track, they shut up. Quote Link to comment
Tony Posted November 22, 2006 Hey I'm not knockin the mustang, but my audi has some balls for only having a V6. My V6 will give your V8 a run for it's money but if you dont know how to drive it doesnt matter what you have under the hood. BTW I am not really a car person anyways, this is the first car I've ever owned and have always had and been into extreme offroad trucks more than cars. Quote Link to comment
fewskillz Posted November 22, 2006 Nice ride. I like the hood scoop. I hate car discussions, makes me miss my RX-7. I don't know what I would do without a truck, but man I miss my rotary. My brother loves Mustangs (me and our Dad are more Camaro guys, but appreciate all instruments of speed). Damnit I miss my FC (Did I mention that already?). Quote Link to comment
Tentacles Posted November 22, 2006 my friend from sweden just bought a 1995 beamer 3 series with a straight six for 5 grand, and a kit for the engine for 20 grand, kinda like paying for the price of a new car, except he got the kit from sweden, and the older bmw 3 series engine was apparently over-designed and the engine can handle alot of stress, its stainless steel compared to the newer aluminum- and the kit these guys make is 1000hp.......... try that on for size for an import, you should see this thing move. i drive a 3 series 6 cyclinder myself and its surprisingly quick- alot of people think its a v6 but its a straight 6- more power- itll give some v8s a run for their money. But RECO nice car!!! i love the new mustang bodies, so cool. Quote Link to comment
Reco Posted November 22, 2006 Thanks for comments. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who appreciates good engineering, as well as a nice reef tank. Audi, BMW, Mitsu Evo, Camaro SS, Mustang etc...all have some great engineering, and I can appreciate them all for different reasons. Just really wanted to get an American car this go around. Plus, at my work there is a Porsche (the CEO of course), Mitsu Evo, Lotus Exige, RX-8, Audi...so I needed to make sure parking lot was well rounded (jk) Quote Link to comment
Tony Posted November 22, 2006 I might look into the new chellengers when they come out. Quote Link to comment
snostorm Posted November 22, 2006 That is very sweet, I never liked Mustangs but I love the new one. They did a nice job on the new Mustang and it is very highly rated by publications and on Edmunds. My neighbor has one and the thing sounds great. GT of course. Nothing like a good old throaty V8. Muscle cars are making a comeback and I am loving every minute of it. For the money there is nothing that can touch it. Quote Link to comment
ZeRo 91 Posted November 22, 2006 I drive a 1955 Chevy Series 150 with a 350 SB pushing 350HP but around 300 straight to the wheels. Quote Link to comment
Spliffstar Posted November 22, 2006 Love the new mustang.. I've got a 95 gt vert. blk\blk top.. close to stock besides headers, exhausts.. 70,000 miles and going strong (knock on wood).. I just can't get rid of it.. the car just has attitude and spirit.. might do some work to it if my wallet gets fatter...best of luck with your new car and remember, drive it like you stole it Quote Link to comment

whitmda Posted November 23, 2006 I have a Chauffeur named Terrence. He drives the #156 bus in Chicago. My dream car is a 1971 Boss Mustang. It will be mine one day, once I move to the burbs. Quote Link to comment
Travis Posted November 23, 2006 "Ford....Im sorry" Totally agree lol. American cars suck ass in the gas consumption department. I like the fact that I can get 30+ miles on one gallon of gas. American cars also start having problems with the internals at around 80,000-100,000 miles. Quote Link to comment
jimi thing Posted November 23, 2006 went from a 2005 honda accord to a 2005 chrysler 300. Very happy with my choice. Quote Link to comment
Spliffstar Posted November 24, 2006 lol..actually, his is a 4.6, mine is a 5.slow But anyway, there are plenty of mustangs around here that would smoke that fake hemi right up.. And whats with all the ford haters out there... jeez its a muscle car, not an economy car...Ford puts alot of R&D into the mustangs because the mustang consumers have alot of passion for this product... u'd be surprised how well they hold up when properly cared for.. anyway, i love my car so im just being defensive when i say this but, bite me! Travis Posted November 24, 2006 I'm not a Ford hater, I'm an American Car Manufactuer Hater Quote Link to comment
SSMangrove Posted November 28, 2006 ditto travis. guess ihave the best of both worlds wrx = awd + turbo + 4 doors @ 25-27mpg. power is nothing without control Quote Link to comment
Reco Posted December 7, 2006 I like WRX and Evos as well, I was seriously considering both at one point...but was turned off by the "turbo lag" and awful turning radius....that combined with a 5-10k price increase, and what I didn't consider an attractive exterior....I went the mustang route, and I am still very happy with my decision. This car is rated 25 mpg highway btw. Quote Link to comment
mindaugas Posted April 9, 2007 Sexy, I test drove one a few weeks ago and loved it. I have an '02 V6 auto But I still love it. Quote Link to comment
