I need help! does anybody know how to get rid of this green stuff? i use conditioned tap water could this be my problem

well it is not about tap water I have been using conditioned tap water for 2 years, first of all you need to lower the lighting time on your aquarium (8 hours is good) and lower the calcium and iodine levels back to normal if they are too much. I do not know if someone can provide additional information but this helped me to get rid of those in my reef.

I am only running my lights about 7 hours a day. could my intensity be too much?

I am running two 250 watt halides 10k plus 2 40 watt actinics about 15 inches above the water. I have been raising the lights to try and reduce the intensity, but i still seem have this problem!

it could be your tap water, all tap water is not the same, try using distilled water. u can buy it at your local grocery store. i buy genric distilled water for only .79 cent per gallon, and if you have a nano tank you only need a couple of gallons per week for top offs and water changes.
