BIGBOB
I posted this somewhere else on the forum, but what I did to avoid making 2 suge tanks was attach a PVC segment to the output with an endcap on it, than drill holes all the way down it and you get a pretty even undirect surge all over the tank. If the surge is blowing away your SB, than just raise the output, or attach and elbow or something to it to direct it across or up rather than down. Link to comment
skylsdale
Any updates on surge devices or plans? I'm thinking about this on a 20 gal as well...curious with how it's going. Link to comment
cal3v
I made a makeshift surge on my 10g just to see how it was, it took out too much water at each go for how much i wanted to flush each time to get a good enough flow, so I am just sticking with the powerheads. Link to comment
cal3v
Not to mention the sound of the siphon break was annoying lol. Link to comment
BIGBOB
i rather like the relaxing sound of slurping sloshing water -- it soothes me at night. It reminds me of carlos santana Link to comment
wetworx101
I didnt know you had to plumb a tank for a SCWD. You can run them on a closed loop with a circulation pump and over-the-side plumbing. Hell, I've even seen them run off of a powerhead inside a tank hidden behind rockwork and they still surge fine. Link to comment
