reefman23
Ebin, try using Gutter-Guard for the overflow, it's a plastic mesh. You can find it at most hardware stores. Hey Ebin, I have some of this stuff...actually 4' of it... I can send you a bunch if you want. I have no need for it. Jesse Link to comment

ebin
Mini update time... got a couple of shroom rocks Also threw a few small disbar anthias in the tank they seem to be eating and are a joy to watch. however the small clown goby surfed the carpet. Not too sure if I am sold on the shrooms I may trade them out at my next local reef meeting. xoxo-ebin Link to comment
ebin
Grrr never fails...Just spent the last hour dipping my zoos and tweezing out dead nudis and thire egg sacks. made a nice size hole in one colony and turned a 30 polyp frag of fire and ice zoos into about 8 sad little polyps. Link to comment

BigRed25X
hey man i second the little bit of sand for the fish...just a cup Link to comment
Daemonfly
I know how that is, most of my zoos in the 2.5g were hit by nudis, lost one colony completely. Rest are down to just a few live polyps, but they're recovering. Dipped them all and moved them all out to my new 20g prop tank. I have a bunch of loc-line pieces, but no black ones to replace that one orange one you got. As for those 5g water jugs, I love those things. I make my own water, but those things pour very nicely, so I use them to store my fresh water for top-offs. Link to comment
ebin
hey man i second the little bit of sand for the fish...just a cup My wrasse did the whole carpet dance. Due to the level in my display I loose alot of fish. 1 clown goby 4 anthias 3 small clowns 2 wrasse all thought the carpet was a good place to hang out. Yea every now and again somehow nudi's sneak into systems, My battle with them is over. I spent over an hour going through all my zoos with tweezers and a razor blade several times after dips to ensure the egg sacs and nudis were gone. Seen alot of zoos with sundial snails lately. Got the loc-line piece just need to put it in, it is black and dosen't match the other sidebut oh well. can't have enough 5 gal jugs they are worth thier weight in gold i am still a bit lacking flow wise in the tank I may add a seio in the roclwork hidden so remedy the problem, just don't want a cord hanging out the back of the tank. I look back thinking i should have drilled for a closed loop. Link to comment
WarDamnEagle18
Hey ebin tank looks good. I just wanted to say the chalice frag i got from you is doing very well. Hes been eating, but the only problem is the dang black sailfin blenny plucks the shrimp out of all the stuff i feed and spits it out. He does it just to ### me off. We have issues lol. ebin
Glad to hear all is well. I hate how fish bully corals for food it gets to be a chore ensuring everyone gets to eat. Link to comment

This tank has been fun to set up, I am really not too hot on the aquascaping so it will be redone this next week the above photos are kinda the before photos. I will post new photos when it is finished. Link to comment
winterparkmg
Ebin, tank looks great! I really like the way the water seems to have "dimmed" the pink color into a nice shade. Great idea afterall, eh? Question about the locline return you have: how exactly did you seal it up? Did you just silicone it in? I'd really appreciate it if you could be as specific as possible since it looks really good and I'm trying to do the same thing with my tank right now. On a side note, I am completely jealous of you living in Temecula. I have been to the Balloon and Wine fest when I was flying out of North Island in the summer of 2004. I LOVE it out there and wish I could have brought a case of Orfila wine back with me. Anyway, thanks for whatever help you can provide! ~William Link to comment
ebin
Winter: First thanks for the kind words. I am very happy with the background it blends very well and i really hardly ever think about the fact it is pink. As for the locline ti is connected to my bulkhead with a 3/4" threaded piece that screws in and you just connect the loc line pieces to it. it is called a mpt connector and looks like this: they sell them at marine depot Temecula does have some cool ongoings like the b&w festival, casinos, and the rodrun...but ut us damn hot!
