Many dwarf seahorse keepers feed this almost exclusively and do just fine. The trick is to feed before their yolk sacs are depleted. To get back to the original question, I'll bet that a mandarin would do fine eating newly hatched bbs, but it might not do fine in the small tank requirements for dwarf seahorses. Nothing like real predation on pods can give. Sure, they might live, but they often loose color or have shortened lives. Link to comment
