Looking for suggestions for a Pico reef light (PAR38 Tuna's are expensive in Canada - $80)

I’m probably way out of touch on this, but i think of par38 as the cheapest of the cheap. if price is a key criterion, i would imagine par38 is your best bet unless you can find a no-name generic light on amazon or alibaba or something. If you’re willing to spend more, the options open up considerably. AI Prime is popular and I think Nicrew makes one that would fit too, but I only have personal experience with par38.

If you're handy at all, driverless chips like these (similar to the chip that drives the light linked above) are easy to wire up – just need a heatsink and related sundries:
