Hi, newbie to keeping fish and i need some help on the topic of actually transferring it into the tank, i remember reading somewhere that you have to slowly introduce it to your aquarium but i cannot remember where i saw that and the exact info on it, also if anyone has any more information on the mantis shrimp, i specifically have the peacock mantis shrimp. I also may need some information on what to buy for it, i do have most of what i need to purchase for it but may need some pointers. What maintenance will i need to do?

Hi, if you are a newbie at keeping a salt water tank, you should read the following guides:

https://reefbuilders.com/reef-tank-setup/

https://www.thesprucepets.com/what-is-the-nitrogen-cycling-process-2924241

https://theaquariumguide.com/articles/nano-reef-tank

Warning, some of the guides are for reef tank. If you don't want to keep corals, you can skip buying an expensive reef light. Furthermore In nano tank, you don't need to use skimmer or other mean of removing nutriment if you do regular water change.

I cannot help you with your peacock as my mantis is a smaller genus. Here some guide I did found on the web:

https://aquariumbreeder.com/mantis-shrimp-as-an-aquarium-pet-care-guide/

https://theaquariumadviser.com/peacock-mantis-shrimp/

Since your mantis will be a big eater, you will need to not skip your weekly water change.

Here the best available  list of mantis of mantis shrimp:

https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthropoda/crustacea/malacostraca/eumalacostraca/royslist/

You can find the peacock mantis shrimp in the list and mine which is a Purple-Spotted Mantis.
