Bulk Reef Supply ?

I have used Bulk Reef Supply for years, but since they bought Marine Depot, I feel like the customer value has dropped off the radar. Their prices are now some of the highest out there (some products), and they used to have great promo codes all the time. They did mail me a snail mail promo, but was expired by the time I got it. I asked if they can honor it and they were sort of rude on the chat. The technical service also provided has significantly dropped. Is there another shop out there that delivers a better value?

Has anyone used SaltwaterAquarium.com for their general nano-reef needs?

Best,

Salt water aquarium and premium aquatics are both great to deal with. If I need to buy something online, I try to use either one of them before BRS. With my preference being premium aquatics, mostly because they’re a sponsor on this site.

I’ll second salt water aquarium. Bought a skimmer couldn’t get it to function wasn’t impressed they grabbed me a full refund month later. Easy to deal with and love their prices.

I shop from several websites.

https://kensfish.com/ has the best prices on consumables. Additives, foods, test kits, etc.

I get some of my equipment and consumables from https://fishtanksdirect.com/

I sometimes shop https://premiumaquatics.com/ especially when they have their 15% off sales.

https://www.saltwateraquarium.com/ for some of my larger purchases. The free stuff that I get with orders is stuff that I use anyway. Bonus.

I usually only shop from https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/ when they do their promotions or if they have a good deal on something that I need in their open-box section.

I'm a frugal shopper.

It is less known that BRS was also bought out.  However, their name and site remained, while Marine Depot's name and site were dissolved.  It's too bad, as I liked both of these companies (although I liked Marine Depot a little more).  When Petco purchased Drs Foster & Smith along with Live Aquaria, I feel that their quality suffered a little, even though they basically left Live Aquaria in tact.  I suppose that working for someone else doesn't motivate as much as actual ownership.

I haven't really had to purchase anything from BRS lately, so I can't really comment on their current customer service or pricing.  However, I did notice that some of their equipment choices seemed to have changed.  I agree, Premium Aquatics is great (when they have the product in stock).  Remember to support the vendors that you would miss if they were to go away.  That includes your local fish store.

As for BRS customer service I had a great experience.

An order was stolen from my mailbox (someone got some turbostart and nitrocycle 😂) called BRS and they sent a replacement no questions asked it probably depends a lot on which representative you get. Remember they too are people and sometimes have off days. Sorry your experience was bad

I have probably placed 30+ orders with BRS.  The only time I asked for a return was for a LPS food that not a single coral in my tank would eat.  They told me no.
