Gtojr
I have another tagalong that I need help with. Any clue to what this is (Clam? Oyster?) and is it safe to leave in? 1 Quote Link to comment
M. Tournesol
Looking at this guide to differentiate clams, mussels and oyster I would say mussel. Bivalve are all reef safe. The difficulty is keeping them alive. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Gtojr
thanks for the replys! I've had this particular rock in my rank for 6-9 months (It even survived the great tank killing disaster of 2021) but don't move it much. This is the first time I've noticed it, but it may have been there for a long time-I'm not real observant unless I know what to look for. Unfortunately it's not in a place that I can see it often (bottom of rock) but nice to know what it is and that its there! Quote Link to comment
Ohmegg
Bivalves tend to survive "great dying events". Such as the Permian mass extinction 😆 1 Quote Link to comment
