Sadship
Hello, I recently purchased a pearly jawfish from live aquaria. My tank should be set up reasonably well for the fish in terms of substrate and bio load. My question is specifically about whether or not this thing would do okay in an acclimation box when I ultimately transfer it to my DT from quarantine. I know they like sand beds, but my current acclimation box is unlikely to be able to support sand in it. I have a pretty mean royal gramma that attacks new things things and is able to get into the rock work better than most fish. Just the gramma, and a clown in a 30gal (not standard size but tall vs long). Tank established for about 9 months. 3-4 in sand bed, deeper in some areas due to flow. Quote Link to comment
seabass
Hi. Welcome to Nano-Reef.com. Not too sure what to do about the basslet; but you might try a jawfish house. Good luck! 1 Quote Link to comment
jservedio
Instead of putting the jawfish in the box, you can put the gramma in the box while the jawfish builds his home (or adopts the home you made him per @seabass awesome suggestion). 1 Quote Link to comment
