Hm....you might have to move your lights and flow over there while you're at it.  You don't have to light and flow the whole 125...just the vicinity around the corals.

 

(I've just heard those crabs referred to as "common hermits".)

Would the rocks in the 36g be fine without the lights?

The levels are still high? You haven't done giant water changes yet?

 

Start doing water changes! Mix the new water to the same salinity and temp as the water currently in the tank, then get all that toxic water OUT.

I agree....unless water changes are being avoided for some reason (like water availability) then up to a 100% water change would be totally appropriate.  

 

Just to reiterate...do the best you can to match temperature and salinity.

I've only done 2 at 50%
