whisnantrider
Alright guys and gals, I’m sorry i forgot to keep this thread up to date when updating my thread on reef2reef. Anyway its been a busy few days but here she is. (Side note, I hate that my apple products show a photo fine but then post it sideways, this was never an issue when I used android, 😫, I’m sure its user error but idk what I’m doing wrong and it doesn’t do it on every photo. Back to da show.....) Quote Link to comment

whisnantrider
Saturday was aquascaping day! I added another CaribSea Arch and a small broken piece of CaribSea life rock that just fit like it was meant to. Also 20lbs of CaribSea reef grade sand gave me about a half inch thick sand bed. Just enough that its not bare bottom but still easy to stir and clean. Quote Link to comment
whisnantrider
Heres the updated light mount and final tank set up. Still need some cord management done but it’ll get there. I need to post a video to help show the dimensions of the aquascape. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
whisnantrider
I was able to get all of my cords wrangled and the stand organized today. I’m very happy with the setup. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

I broke my remote for my light and had to order another. It came in yesterday and I was able to get the lights setup. I also re-screened the top and now theres no wave in the mesh. Decided to pick up a strawberry shortcake acro from my LFS. I have been wanting one for a little while so it just felt right. 3 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
What an awesome upgrade @whisnantrider, it really turned out great! How's everything been settling in to the new system? Quote Link to comment

How's everything been settling in to the new system? Thank you! Things have settled in nicely. The Hygger wave pumps Were returned. Nothing particularly wrong with them but i felt like they weren’t providing enough flow. They offer a very wide, gentle flow but the 1600 gph rating may be a bit optimistic. I swapped them out with 2 Tunze 6040’s which are 1190gph and made a pretty drastic difference. On the 30L they were great, just not enough juice on the SR60. I am still running the IM skimmer. I have considered swapping the skimmer for the CADLights PLS 50 Elite V2 I have but its been working well and I dump a cup full of pretty nasty skim each week so i’m kindda scared to mess with it. Not sure why the older IM skimmers had such poor reviews. The two I have used were both great compared to similarly sized skimmers. I think I have had 1 coral casualty. The pink boobies chalice just up and died within about 24 hours. I have no idea what happened with it, seemed fine, then ☠️. Everything else is encrusting and staring to grow. ALK consumption has increased over the last two weeks and I have started adding 10ml of ALL-FOR-REEF In addition to the kalk to help keep up. I am almost out of RedSea Reef Energy AB+, so I started alternating AcroPower in this past week. Wanted to try it out for a couple of reasons, so hopefully it works out. I will try to get some updated pics up tomorrow. 2 Quote Link to comment

I've been contemplating it and might have to jump on the bandwagon. Quote Link to comment
whisnantrider
Was researching it for a while. When I decided to pull the trigger it was no where to be found. Seems as though it is getting back into stock at most places. I am only a week or so into using it. I will be posting in the other thread, good idea to help others. 1 Quote Link to comment
