RoyalGramma001
Hi I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the specialized care of the stag horn hermit crab? Quote Link to comment
Tired
The hermit itself has no specialized care, aside from making sure it doesn't stay upside-down. If it falls onto its back, it can't right itself. Its shell, I believe, likes SPS conditions. 1 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
If you plan on keeping one make sure the shell is live. Alot of places that sell these the shell is alredy dead or dying. it's a coral and when dead the shell can collect algae and become an unsightly mess. The crab can live just fine if the shell dies and the coral lives and grows just fine if the crab dies but the growth pattern changes. The shell can be difficult to keep alive. Quote Link to comment
